Kyokushin Karate is a traditional Japanese martial art created by the legendary Karate Master Mas Oyama. After studying and mastering various martial arts, he was dissatisfied with their rigid single approach methods. So he set out to create a system that trained the student to their strengths and not to that of the teacher’s strengths, a system that was practical, NOT based on aesthetics! In the end he ended up with Kyokushin which translates to: The Way of the Ultimate Truth.

Formed in 1986, the ACT Branch has 40 members going into our 24th year. Although we are one of the smaller branches under the umbrella of the National DHAA, the standards of dental hygiene practice in the ACT is incredibly high.
The ACT Ethnic Schools Association is an umbrella body for community based language schools in the Australian Capital Territory. It has 40 member schools and about 1500 student learning different kinds of community languages.
The Law Society of the Territory for the Seat of Government was formed in 1933 towards the end of the Great Depression, when Canberra itself was struggling to survive. There were seven members. The Society owes its genesis to the Queanbeyan based practitioners who moved ‘out to’ Canberra during the 1920’s. In 1940 the name was changed to the ‘Law Society of the Australian Capital Territory’.
Veterans’ Athletics represent fitness, fun and fellowship across a range of athletic activities for men and women aged 30 and over. The club boasts a membership of over 500. Everyone, from beginner to elite is welcome.
